Rosemary is an herb native to the Mediterranean region, but is now grown worldwide. The leaf and its oil are used to make medicine.

Rosemary is used for improving memory, indigestion (dyspepsia), arthritis-related joint pain, hair loss, and other conditions.

Rosemary oil is considered versatile and can be used for respiratory problems as it makes an excellent decongestant or expectorant.

It is also used in massage, aiding circulation and easing arthritic type conditions. It can help with skin care-in particular oily skin or acne and also, is beneficial for scalp and hair care.

Most people think of rosemary oil as being invigorating and stimulating and as such, it is known for aiding focus and alertness. It is useful for anyone who is feeling fatigued. Rosemary can be used to improve dull skin, to ease neuralgia, muscle cramping and rheumatism.

In foods, rosemary is used as a spice. The leaf and oil are used in foods, and the oil is used in beverages. In manufacturing, rosemary oil is used as a fragrant component in soaps and perfumes.

Be warned

Rosemary Oil should not be used on or near the faces of children or infants. Also, because of the level of camphor, it is potentially neurotoxic. It is important to consult an aromatherapist before using this oil, so you know how to use it to its best potential and be safe while doing so.
